Leicester City notebook on 67m spree truth and transfer policy change

After a defeat to Southampton, Leicester City needed a distraction from the on-the-pitch woes. But while the annual accounts were released, they did not make for pretty reading. Here, weve looked a little deeper at the numbers as part of our latest round-up of the goings-on behind the scenes at City.

Leicester Cityset out clearly why they had made record losses of 92.5m. In the statement accompanying their accounts this week, they said: The club retained its primary playing assets while making further significant investments in player acquisitions and salaries. This approach was the primary factor behind the clubs pre-tax loss of 92.5M for the year.

But, you had to dive a little deeper into the figures to find out just how much had been spent. And the answer was perhaps a little surprising.
