BirminghamLive brings you all the latest Aston Villa news and headlines throughout the day

Hello and welcome to our dedicated Aston Villa live blog.

Unai Emerys side are still hunting for a place in the top 10 as they prepare to face West Ham on Sunday. Villa have recorded consecutive wins over Crystal Palace and Everton and will be looking to make it three on the spin at the London Stadium.

The Crystal Palace win was an important one for Villa, who have been in patchy form at Villa Park during the Spaniards time at the club, despite winning four of their five games on the road. Meanwhile, West Ham currently sit a point above the relegation zone after being handed a 4-0 defeat at Brighton last time out.

Away from the pitch, reports in Spain have claimed that Villa are apossible suitor for Las Palmas Alberto Moleiro, with Liverpool also linked. It was thought that Barcelona was his most likely destination but their transfer ban has reportedly boosted Villas hopes of signing the attacking midfielder.

Staying in Spain, Villa have also been touted with a move forSevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who has been in prolific form since the turn of the year. Elsewhere, Alex Moreno has discussed how he is adjusting to life at Villa, following his January move from Real Betis.

West Ham United manager David Moyes has been handed a much-needed boost ahead of this weekends meeting with Aston Villa as he looks set to welcome back four players from injury.

The Hammers take on AEK Larnaca in the first leg of their last-16 tie in the Uefa Europa Conference League on Thursday night. Among those in the travelling contingent will be a quartet of players who have been on the mend.

Maxwell Cornet will make the journey to Cyprus after missing five months of action with a hamstring injury. The Ivorian played for the first time since October in an U21s game last week, although Moyes admits he is a wee bit away yet from first team action.

Athletic Club defender Inigo Martinez has reportedly received multiple offers amidAston Villas interest in signing the player on a free transfer.

The Basques contract expires this summer, at which point he will be available as a free agent. He is one of Barcelonas key transfer targets as they bid to bolster their backline.

Fellow La Liga side Atletico Madrid are also in the mix, according toEl Desmarque(viaSportWitness), who claim that several clubs are interested in his signature. Barcelona are said to be his likeliest destination and the 31-year-old himself is believed to prefer a move to the Nou Camp.

Bodymoor Heath was hit with a blizzard today as Aston Villa trained ahead of Sundays showdown against West Ham at the London Stadium. Heres the big takeaways from the clubs latest session, with head coachUnai Emeryset to address the media later this week

CARLOS DOING WELL, COUTINHO LIGHT SESSION

After a quick warm-up in the gym inside Villas impressive high-performance centre, Villas first-team took to the pristine training pitches. Its Diego Carloss third week back on the grass after his six-month lay-off due to that Achilles injury.

Carlos, though, has responded well to whats being asked and has shown no issues with regards to sprinting and tackling in the small-sided games. Carlos is still having the odd rest day to manage his work load, as Emery said recently: Diego Carlosis training back with the team normally but hes resting a little bit because his process needs time as well to be fixed and to be confident to play. Its very good news but we have to take care with him if hes to be in the squad.

Elsewhere, fellow Brazilian Philippe Coutinho was earlier pictured back at training. The playmaker is still a few weeks away from a return after a hamstring setback but, today, he conducted a light session as he worked one-to-one with a member of Villas backroom team away from the matchday group.

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho in the summer transfer window.

Alongside Newcastle and West Ham United, the Villans have set their sights on signing the 30-year-old, according to Fijaches (via SportWitness). Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are also said to be in the mix.

The report adds that the Spanish club have transfer listed Carvalho in order to reduce their wage bill. Betis are looking to sell the Angolan-born Portugal international after Nabil Fekir injured his anterior cruciate ligament, scuppering their plans to sell him.

Former Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has been impressed by the performances of Finn Azaz while on loan at Plymouth Argyle this season.

The 22-year-old has starred for the promotion-chasing Pilgrims despite missing 14 games through injury late last year. He has bounced back from that setback to provide six goal involvements since his return in January.

His latest was an assist for Callum Wright in the 2-1 win over League One rivals Derby County on Tuesday night, and he also won the penalty kick that ultimately won the game, althoughRams fans complained that he divedto win it in the first place.

It was a Baltic morning on the training pitches at Bodymoor Heath for Unai Emery and his players as preparations for Aston Villas trip to West Ham continued.

Emery, 51, has been dealt a massive blow given Boubacar Kamaras month-long absence now while, this week, 20-year-old Arjan Raikhy has been recalled to first-team sessions atBodymoor. The FA Youth Cup winner, involved in the under-21s win over Middlesbrough earlier this week, will help bulk up Villas options in midfield and could feature on the bench this weekend should he make an impression amongst his senior peers.

Raikhy was part of Villas six-a-side winning team earlier today alongside Robin Olsen,Ashley Young, Alex Moreno, Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz.John McGinn, though, who was on the opposite team, labelled the orange bibs victory a disgrace on Youngs Insta post. Now, now, lads

Former Aston Villa midfielder James Milner has suggested that he would like to continue playing for Liverpool beyond the end of his contract.

The 37-year-olds current deal expires in the summer and he has not yet penned an extension ahead of next season. He waslinked with a return to Villa Parklast summer, but he agreed a new one-year deal after helping the Reds win the FA Cup and EFL Cup, finish second in the Premier League and reach the final of theUefa Champions Leaguein 2021/22.

Milner has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, eight of which saw him wear the captains armband, showing that manager Jurgen Klopp still has faith in the veteran player. After receiving his MBE alongside popular Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara on Tuesday, Milners comments imply that he isnt quite ready to hang his boots up.

Aston Villa and Liverpool have received an update in their reported pursuit of Las Palmas star Alberto Moleiro.

The midfielder has been a top performer for his club as they bid for promotion to La Liga. The 19-year-old has registered eight assists in 29 games, with his performances earning him a call-up to the Spain under-21s squad and comparisons to Barcelonas Pedri.

In fact, Barca were reported to be close to agreeing a deal for Moleiro in the summer but their financial situation has put them out of the race for his signature.

VillaandLiverpoolare claimed to have emerged as alternatives for Moleiro, who has a 25m release clause in his contract, a price that would double should Las Palmas make their way to the top-flight.

Last month, Ollie Watkins teammate Tyrone Mings was given a new contract given his run of consistent performances.

Villa should do the exact same and hand Watkins his first contract extension since signing his five-year deal back in 2020.

Watkins has top-scored for Villa in each of his three seasons, become an England international and, in 2023, has put himself in the bracket of the most in-form strikers across Europe. He has 33 goals and 11 assists across his 96 Premier League apperances for Aston Villa.

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in a summer transfer for Sevill striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Morocco international is said to have attracted attention fromVilla, following his scoring hot-streak since the start of 2023. Though En-Nesyri made a slow start to the season, he has scored 10 goals in his last 14 games, despite Sevilla narrowly sitting above the relegation zone in La Liga.

The 25-year-old forward is demonstrating that he has rediscovered his midas touch, after his goal tally dipped to just five last season. However, En-Nesyri reaffirmed his commitment to Sevilla when an offer to leave came his way in January, opting to help the club escape the threat of relegation.

Aston Villa loanee Finn Azaz prompted an angry reaction from Derby County supporters as he continued his impressive season with Plymouth Argyle.

Azazhas excelled in back-to-back seasons in the EFL after being named in League Twos Team of the Season during his spell at Newport County last term and has since made the step up to League One. TheVillamidfielder has clocked up 15 goal involvements in 24 league games for Argyle, despite being sidelined for three months, and was centre of attention during their clash with Derby.

Alex Moreno has admitted working with Unai Emery has been an eye-opening experience so far as he adjusts to life at Aston Villa and in Birmingham.

TheSpanish left-backarrived in January for a fee of around 13m and has made seven appearances so far. Moreno won the Copa del Rey with previous club Real Betis and is eyeing a call-up to the Spain squad ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany. But for now, Moreno is focused on adjusting to the rigours of the Premier League and getting to grips withEmerysdemands, which sees players receive in-depth information.

Aston Villa are interested in signing Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, according to reports in Spain.

The 25-year-old has been in prolific goalscoring form since returning from Moroccos magical journey to the World Cup semi-finals. En-Neysri has fired in 10 goals across 14 games in all competitions since the turn of the year, despite Sevilla hovering above the drop zone in La Liga on goal difference.

It is not the first time that the forward has been touted with a move away from Sevilla, with West Ham said to have made an offer in the recent January transfer window. However,Villaare reportedly preparing to challenge the Hammers for En-Nesyri in the summer.

Aston VillaandLiverpoolare both reportedly willing to pay 25 million to sign Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Spain and has been compared to Barcelonas wonderkid Pedri, who also came through the Las Palmas youth ranks. The Catalan club are said to be interested in signing Moleiro, but given their financial problems, a summer transfer is in doubt.
